Why I Choose Health: Health is Wealth

    Yuliya Karpovitch, Manager, Media Technology

At PHM, our roles and reasons for being here are many. We’ve asked people to answer a few questions, letting us know a few of the things that make them unique, what they like best about PHM and of course, why they’ve chosen health.

How do you make health and wellness part of your life?

During the pandemic, I became a big yoga fan—something I could easily do from home to strengthen my body and find peace in my mind. Once lockdown ended, I signed up for a gym and added spin and Pilates to my weekly rotation. It’s a great way to socialize with other gym goers and I even met another PHMer there! I also prioritize my social connections. It’s important for me to check in with friends and family regularly. We have a weekly family FaceTime which I always look forward to now, especially as my siblings and I no longer live in the same place!

What is your favorite podcast/current podcast obsession?

My favorite podcast hasn’t changed since the first episode aired on December 8, 2020—That’s Messed Up: An SVU Podcast. Every week, the two hosts, Liza Treyger and Kara Klenk, cover a Law & Order: SVU episode in detail, share their research on the true crime the episode was based on and interview a guest from the episode! A real treat for anyone who can’t get enough of this incredible show, now on season 25. Liza and Kara are also comedians, so their entertaining dynamic keeps these episodes from getting too dark.

If you could Work Your World anywhere, where would you work?

I would love to WYW in Paris one day! Not just because it’s the home of Publicis Groupe headquarters, but also because French culture inspires me – the museums, the food, the history.

What was the first concert you attended?

I saw Muse in 2013 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly. Admittedly, I became a huge fan of them after Stephenie Meyer named them as one of her inspirations when working on the Twilight series…but I still enjoy Muse these days.

    Why did you choose health?

I have always had an interest in science, medicine and the ways these disciplines intersect with our daily lives. I studied chemistry in college which gave me a deeper appreciation for how advancements in research can improve treatments for various medical conditions. Ultimately, lab work and I did not agree, but I find the work I do at PHM to be very fulfilling in connecting patients with health solutions. After all, our health is our wealth, and we need to prioritize it to live fuller and longer lives.
