    Team Spotlight: Partner Direct

    At PHM, we re-imagine media for health and wellness everyday—but how does that play out in the day to day lives of our employees?

    To answer this question, PHM presents the Team Spotlight, highlighting a different team each month and detailing not only the work they do, but how they make PHM a great place to work.

    This month: Partner Direct, through the lens of Donica Waldeck, Supervisor, Partner Direct

    Health has been a critical focus of mine since a young age. As a child, I was diagnosed with a skin condition called Congenital Melanocytic Nevus (CMN), affecting 1% of infants at birth. This condition resulted in a large birthmark covering the entire front side of my left leg, for which I had to have numerous surgeries and skin grafts. Due to this experience, I know firsthand how isolating any medical condition can be and how having access to resources and community can make a difference to bridge that gap. This is what led me to PHM and the Partner Direct team.

    A little Media 101 for you—it is our role as an agency to provide strategic recommendations to our clients on how they should be reaching their target audience, whether that’s online, in print, out-of-home such as on a billboard or using other avenues like content and much more. The world is our oyster! To execute these placements, we work with hundreds of media partners, and it is our role as Partner Direct to serve as the frontline for all communications between these partners and our clients. We negotiate on behalf of our brands and clients to ensure that this programming aligns with our brand goals, mission and vision for the future. From the initial planning stages to launch and ongoing updates, we oversee the entire process—monitoring campaigns, implementing optimizations and ensuring adherence to contracts.

    We spend our days making sure everything is running smoothly, reaching out to partners to continue optimizing campaigns and assessing any new opportunities, and presenting this information to both the team and clients for their input. It’s always exciting when we get the opportunity to try something innovative with a client and our partners help us do just that.

    I love the opportunity to explore new ways of benefiting our brands and collaborating with our partners. I revel in the creative challenge of shaping the landscape for conditions and brands, connecting patients and physicians in innovative ways. This unique blend of creativity and healthcare allows me to make a tangible and positive difference in the lives of others, reinforcing my passion for the work we do at the intersection of health and creativity. Being able to help those who are in the same position I was in years ago is truly fulfilling and I can’t imagine being anywhere else!
