Job Description


The Executive Vice President of Business Development is a critical role within Publicis Health Media. You will be responsible for identifying and securing revenue from net new client accounts to support the annual business growth goals for PHM. As a leader of business development you will drive and oversee the pitch process while also managing the collection of cross functional representatives assigned to work on each pitch. As the EVP you will also partner with the Publicis Media Central Growth Team as a critical resource and partner.

  • As the leader of the capability you will be responsible for driving all net new business development activity, inclusive of pitching and prospecting, as well as ongoing analysis of the competitive landscape.
  • You will identify, prioritize and lead all new business pursuits, from taking responsibility for initial opportunity evaluation and strategy to win to final execution of the pitch.
  • You will will develop the pitch approach and cast the cross-functional team to support each engagement.
  • As the EVP of Business Development you will have a deep understanding of the the competitive landscape and PHM's key points of differentiation that lead to a targeting strategy designed support PHM's annual business plan.
  • You will ensure that PHM credentials and marketplace story are up to date, reflecting PHM's marketplace positioning and story as well as key differentiators for PHM, PM and the Groupe.
  • You will work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure PHM is competitively positioned across key audience within the marketplace.

This is a hybrid role, requiring three days in-office each week. Day to day responsibilities:

  • You will create and drive the business development strategy for PHM in collaboration with PHM President·
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities as well as prioritize pursuits· Cultivate and prioritize all inbound and outbound opportunities·
  • Oversee complete RFI and RFP process from initial intake through to final pitch· Work closely with the capability leaders and other senior management to leverage appropriate expertise and knowledge for each pitch or prospect·
  • Collaborate with the team to drive the approach, deliverables, schedule and tools to deliver each pitch successfully within established constraints·
  • Lead an exceptional pitch process through deep collaboration, guidance and partnership with cross functional pitch teams, agency Executives and key partners at Publicis Media·
  • Continuously educate PHM Management Committee and lead internal POVs on the opportunities, changes and demands of the competitive landscape, competitive offerings and differentiators·
  • Lead the development of case studies that amplify PHMs successes·
  • Deeply understand and represent the full suite of PHM, Publicis Media, PMX, Epsilon and Groupe services, products, tools and offerings·
  • Collaborate closely with PHM and PM commercial teams to ensure delivery of competitive and compelling commercial offers to prospective clients·
  • You will oversee development and maintenance of pitch collateral library that complies with conflict policy requirements regarding access.·
  • You will conduct post-pitch project reviews and compile a repository of business development best practices.·
  • You will report directly to the President of PHM
  • You will directly manage between 2- 3 direct reports within Business Development Team

Prospecting responsibilities:

  • Target account identification acquisition and management·
  • Develop annual prospecting list to target net new foundational accounts·
  • Develop and execute individual brand strategies to engage with prospects throughout the year·
  • Partner closely with Marketing to ensure marketplace positioning, thought leadership efforts and any paid programming supports prospecting strategy


  • 15+ years of related agency experience which can include consulting, interactive, agency or direct marketing experience
  • 5+ recent years experience in building and leading cross-functional teams in the pitch/BD process
  • Ability to speak to both tactical and strategic decision makers
  • Ability to manage medium to large client engagements independently
  • Demonstrated ability to take a consultative approach to engaging with C-level marketing executives
  • Strong knowledge or experience in marketing and advertising, with particular emphasis on health and wellness categories
  • Prior omni channel media strategy, planning and client leadership experience
