Job Description

Knowledge 

  • Expert understanding of how the agency works and how jobs flow throughout 
  • Expert understanding of client’s business and goals 
  • Expert understanding of how client business objectives translate into investment marketplace strategies 
  • Expert understanding of the overall marketplace and partner landscape including endemic/lifestyle digital, print, audio, video, point of care, social, search, and programmatic 
  • Expert understanding of marketplace partnership opportunities, deals and terms 
  • Expert understanding of agency Terms + Conditions and partner contracting process Day-to-Day 

MARKETPLACE 

  • Marketplace Intelligence 
  • Responsible for oversight and infusing client context to Marketplace Overviews, POVs, redistributions of PMX POVs, new Partnership details and opportunities, etc. 
  • Seat at the table for strategic conversations prior to the development of strategy presentation 
  • Contributor to the channel mix process, marketplace trends, media cost inputs 
  • Investment Products + Solutions 
  • Cultivates relationships with both PMX and PHM Product Lab, holding monthly meetings to review clients needs, what’s working and identify gaps 
  • Tactical Investment Plans 
  • Ensures tactical Marketplace Recommendations align to strategic objectives  
  • Guide Investment approach for Marketplace Works with marketplace teams to pressure test tactical recommendations, ensuring channels are working together, laddering back to strategy and measurement framework 
  • Expert understanding of partner landscape and deep relationships with partners 
  • Work closely with Partnership team to develop relevant and meaningful partnerships with core partners and publishers, provide value-based offerings, and streamline terms​ 
  • Joint Business Plans (JBP’s) 
  • Creation and management of client JBP’s 
  • Works with PMX Partnership team to ensure JBP’s add additional value on top of current partnerships 
  • Works with marketplace teams to define what is important for each channel 

 

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT 

  • Investment Process 
  • Ensures team is following process and best practices along each step in the Investment Management Process (Buying, Monitoring, Reconciling + Closing) for all Marketplace Channels 
  • Also ensures the team stays up-to-date with any changes to process or new requirements throughout the year 
  • Fiscal Responsibility 
  • Investment Lead is responsible for ALL of their client dollars that are in the Marketplace and all of our financial docs must be in order 
  • Investment Safety 
  • Responsible for coordinating the crisis management and compliance management plan in response to adverse Marketplace events 
  • Marketplace Value 
  • Responsible for pushing teams and partners to extract as much value as possible out of our partnerships 
  • Accountable to the team’s tracking and reporting of Marketplace Value 
  • Create benchmarks, proof points, and above client learnings​ 
  • Accountable for ongoing Marketplace intelligence + POVs​ 
  • Accountable for marketplace 101s and education days​ 
  • Drives POVs on new investment offerings, processes and technologies 
  • Responsible for assignment and execution of ad hoc projects 

Internal + External Relationships 

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with all key stakeholders in the Investment realm both internal and external partners 
  • Clients (Brand, Procurement)

  • PMX / Apex

  • Marketplace Partners 
  • Escalation point for internal and external teams for all things related to investments 
  • Accountable for developing talent, delegating appropriately, and ensuring teams are working smoothly  
  • Accountable for Investment Management team staffing and scoping and support Investment Marketplace staffing and scoping 
  • Provides clear, regular communication regarding client and project goals, prioritization and measures of success to all key stakeholders 
  • Fosters a positive work environment   
  • Provides expertise and shares knowledge with junior team members  
  • Delivers constructive, actionable feedback to team 
  • Continues to develop working relationships with senior client contacts as necessary 
  • Collaborates internally with leadership across capabilities and teams 
  • Determine integration and differentiation across marketplace channel with marketplace channel leads 
  • Strong relationships with key Groupe teams, PMX, APEX 
  • Contributes to new business efforts as needed 
  • Elevate position of and represent PHM in marketplace as a key marketplace expert​​ 
  • Responsible to attending Investment industry events and provide recaps to clients

  • Expertise in all channels, audiences, and campaign types (Digital - Endemic/Lifestyle, Video, Audio - Terrestrial & Streaming, Print, OOH, HCP, Payer/Managed Markets)  
  • 12+ years of industry experience, within media planning and/or buying  
  • Pharmaceutical industry a plus
